INTRODUCTION

1. GURDWARA SRI NANAK JHIRA SAHEB

Sri Guru Nanak Devji was the founder of Sikhism, and the first Sikh Guru. To spread the “real message of God” Sri Guru Nanak Devji travelled in all four directions – North East, West and South called “four Missionary Tours” / “The Udasis of Guru Nanak during his second tour towards south he travelled through Bidar. On listening to the woes and tales of the people of Bidar regarding scarcity of water, Guru Nanak Ji touched a stone and rolled it with his foot.

To the surprise of the people, a spring of clean water started gushing out. That water source is still preserved there and it still serves the people of Bidar for the last 500 years. A large beautiful Gurdwara is constructed close to the spring known as Gurdwara Nanak Jhira, “Jhira-Spring of Water.

Over a period of time, a need was felt for the welfare and upliftment of human society in this area. “Education to be real says “Raymond” must be synonymous with edification”. Its whole purpose must be to bring out and build up the human that is hidden in the body.
